We have received complaints from residents about motorbikes being driven on the Common and the parking of vehicles on the Common. Both of these acts are an infringement of Newtown Common bylaws and constitute nuisance and environmental anti-social behaviour, not to mention the lasting damage to the Common.
We are working closely with Basingstoke and Deane (as the enforcement agency for the bylaws) to try to ensure effective action is taken against these individuals and would ask that you contact the Parish Clerk with any information that you feel is relevant. We are particularly interested in locations, times and vehicle registration numbers. It would also be useful if the information could be reported to Hampshire Constabulary too, using this link.
